Dear County Employees,
It is that time of year again and chances are we could experience wintery weather conditions in the coming months, so I wanted to pass along this reminder. In case of inclement weather you can check the status of county office closures by dialing the main courthouse number, 503-472-9371 or 503-538-7302. The after-hours greeting will be updated to let you know if county offices are closed. Employees may choose option 5 from the menu to receive more detailed information. If there is no closure information on the recording for option 5, county offices are open.
Please note that there are times when the Circuit Court may close but the courthouse and county offices remain open. The Ciruit Court operates independently from the county and the two do not always follow the same closure patterns. In the event of inclement weather when county offices remain open and you have a personal concern about road conditions caused by weather conditions, you may use FET, comp time, personal floating holidays or vacation leave to avoid road travel (or flex your schedule). Be sure to call in and discuss with your supervisor.
