Your Yamhill County Sheriff's Office participates in many community events throughout the year. When you're out and about, come up and say "Hi!". Some of our recent events can be found below.

8th Annual Clean Up The Mountain Event Success

The 8th Annual Clean Up the Mountain event, which was held the last Saturday in May, was a huge success. Hats off to all the volunteers who assisted!

This event wouldn’t be possible without our community partners Solve, BLM Oregon & Washington, Hampton Lumber, Les Schwab Tire Centers (McMinnville), Recology Western Oregon, and Weyerhaeuser.

Special thanks to Deputy Dan Hall and Reserve Deputy VandeBergh for organizing this year’s efforts. Volunteers collected more than 3,760 lbs of trash including furniture, household garbage / construction debris, and general trash. They also recovered (and recycled!) a dozen tires.

Thanks from all of us who use the woods for our enjoyment. Please remember to report litterers and help us keep the forests clean so we can continue to experience the outdoors for generations to come.

Annual Shop With A Sheriff

Help Us Share the Magic of the Season ✨

Since 2016, Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office has brought holiday joy to local kids through our Shop with a Sheriff (SWAS) program. Each year, children chosen by their schools join deputies, staff, and volunteers for an evening of laughter, shopping, and connection at the McMinnville Walmart.

Every child receives $100 to spend - some for gifts for their loved ones, and some just for themselves. Watching their faces light up as they pick out the perfect present for mom, dad, or a sibling is truly unforgettable.

This night reminds us what community is all about - neighbors helping neighbors, sharing kindness, and making the holidays brighter for families who need it most.
