The Yamhill County Clerk is the chief elections officer of the county responsible for voter registration and the administration of Federal, State, and Local elections within Yamhill County.  The Elections Team is committed to conducting fair, accessible, safe and transparent elections.  We are your trusted resource for voter registration, candidate filing and elections in Yamhill County.

Voting in Oregon
Oregon is a vote-by-mail state.  In November 1998 Oregon voters decided to expand VMB to primary and general elections by a vote of 757,204 to 334, 021.  Since adopting VBM in 1998, Oregon consistently ranks as a national leader in voter turnout.  

Active registered voters are mailed an official ballot to complete and return.  The ballot can be mailed or dropped off at any official ballot drop box in the state.

Ballots must be received or mailed with a valid postmark by 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Most Oregonians can register to vote online. Once you are registered, it is quick and simple to either check or update your registration online. Use My Vote to check if you are registered to vote, update your voter registration, check the status of your ballot, or locate a ballot drop site near you.

Trust that your vote counts!  As a Yamhill County voter, you can sign up to receive alerts via text, phone, or email.  Know when your ballot is mailed to you.  After you vote and return your ballot, be alerted when it has been accepted or if there is a signature issue.  Your vote remains anonymous and confidential.
